Each year, our Young Adult ministry partners with a ministry called Genesis Hope South Africa, an outreach ministry of the Norwegian Settlers Church, which is located in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Through the three focus areas of Care, Sports & Education and Social Justice, we join them in the mission to take the love of Jesus to their community.

Genesis Hope South Africa is an outreach ministry of the Norwegian Settlers Church, which is located in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Through the three focus areas of Care, Sports & Education and Social Justice, their mission is to bring meaningful and lasting change to their surrounding communities. wHERE do we sTAY?
“Ekhaya” fondly referred to in Zulu, one of the 11 South African languages , as “at home.” It is on the Genesis campus, and is beautiful! There is a communal lounge, dining room and kitchen where we’ll cook and eat together, a lovely veranda area and volleyball court. The church is also on the grounds, and there’s even a rugby field and prayer garden! Many of the ministries we’ll serve are walking distance from here, so it’s perfect!

what do we do?
Genesis supports a variety of ministries—from a baby home for orphaned infants, to after-school programs where we play with kids and distribute food, to worship gatherings, a music school, and even a surf ministry. We’ll have plenty of work to do and countless opportunities to share the love of Jesus and encourage those who serve with Genesis every day. Whatever your gifts may be, there’s a place for you to step in and serve!
