Our Sewing Fellowship Ministry meets twice monthly to create lap quilts which are donated to a local Hospice organization and the VA Hospital in Loma Linda.  Cards are attached with a salvation message and the church name.  We also provide baby quilts and receiving blankets to the Rose of Sharon Pregnancy Center and the Tijuana Mission.  Members also create crocheted blankets and fabric bags that attach to a patient’s walker.

Mission Statement

The Sewing Fellowship exists to create lap quilts which are donated to a local Hospice organization, the VA Hospital in Loma Linda and baby quilts for the Rose of Sharon Pregnancy Center.

In 2018, these items were provided:

  • Hospice: 307 lap quilts
  • Veterans Hospital: 147 lap quilts, 59 crocheted blankets, 20 walker bags
  • Rose of Sharon: 45 baby quilts, 21 receiving blankets
  • Tijuana Mission: 25 baby quilts

Each year in October the group holds a sale of handmade items.  In 2018 the sale made $1,100.00 which will be used to purchase materials needed (fabric, batting, cutting blades, thread, needles and sewing machine repair).  THANK YOU to all who supported this effort.  We accept donations of cotton fabric, yarn and other sewing notions.

We would love for you to join us.  Whether you are a sewer or not, there are many jobs that do not require sewing machine use.  We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 8am to 12pm.  Come and join us in this rewarding work.
